NEPSI’s Metal-enclosed Harmonic Filter Banks can be equipped with drawout or fixed mounted circuit breakers that provide short circuit protection, switching, and isolation of the filter bank. The breakers are mounted in an isolated compartment that forms an integral part of the filter bank enclosure.

The breaker can be interfaced with NEPSI’s protection and control system to form a completely integrated system that is wired, tested, and calibrated at the factory before shipment.

The drawout circuit breaker provides a “visible break” for maintenance and repair, short circuit protection for internal faults, and switching capability for fixed filter banks.

The fixed mounted circuit breaker provides short circuit protection for internal faults, and switching capability for fixed filter banks, but does not provide a “visible break” required for maintenance and repair. For this reason, most fixed mounted circuit breakers are provided with line side air-disconnect switches. The air-disconnect switch provides the necessary disconnecting means for maintenance and repair.

All breakers form an integral part of the key interlock system.
