NEPSI recently hired Andrea L. Steciuk as Financial Controller, as announced by Paul Steciuk, President of NEPSI. “We’re very pleased to have Andrea onboard. As we continue to grow, we’ve found the need to expand our in-house financial management and with Andrea joining the team we know we’ll have strong and ongoing fiscal oversight,” he says.

Andrea Steciuk officially joined the team in November after previously working as a tax analyst for The Bonadio Group and before that, AYCO a Goldman Sachs company. She holds a Masters degree in Taxation from the State University of New York at Albany. She says, “I’m very excited about the opportunity and it’s great working with family.”

“We embrace family core values here at NEPSI and feel that those values translate into a stronger company, and better product and overall customer experience,” says Frank Steciuk, Vice President and Sales & Marketing Specialist. The Steciuk presence and work ethic is seen throughout NEPSI and is expected to grow as members from the next generation move in to assume more prominent roles in the organization.

Many multinational corporations including Walmart, Samsung, Tata Group and Porsche began as and remain family run businesses. According to research done by the Boston Consulting Group, family businesses, “account for more than 30% of all companies with sales in excess of $1 billion.”

To test the strength of family businesses, the Harvard Business Review compared them with similar businesses within the same industries in countries around the world that are not owned by a single family and evaluated performance.

When we looked across business cycles from 1997 to 2009, we found that the average long-term financial performance was higher for family businesses than for nonfamily businesses in every country we examined.

NEPSI has clearly embraced this philosophy. Established more than 20 years ago and already with a number of family members on the payroll, resiliency remains a strong point for the company, and Paul Steciuk is predicting continued expansion for the firm. He says, “We’ve become the largest manufacturer of metal-enclosed capacitor banks and harmonic filters in the industry... and the future continues to shine bright.”

NEPSI is the leading global provider of medium-voltage metal-enclosed power capacitor banks and harmonic filter banks for use on electric power systems. Founded in 1995, the New York based company has grown to be the world's market leader and most trusted name for the supply of medium-voltage metal-enclosed power factor correction and harmonic filter systems.
